Vaarwel iPhone, internet! #10daysoffline
januari 22nd, 2012 § 4 reacties

52 boeken lezen in 52 weken. Dat is het plan van Daphne.

En dus vroeg ze op Facebook om boekentips. Die haar prompt om de oren vlogen. De tips die ik gaf, uit de losse pols en naar ik nu zie, een lijst van tien:
* The Ministry of Special Cases – Nathan Englander;
* Reis naar het einde van de Nacht – Celine;

I’ve not particularly liked Xmas in the past years.
Feeling quite ‘hmpf’ I would allow myself a proper gift: a Freitag. After buying number I-lost-count, I remember my dear friend J. saying: “Aren’t they out of fashion?” Erm… I don’t know. I don’t care, really. I have however set myself a limit: I’m only allowed to buy Freitags, and only ‘editions’ I don’t have yet.
Last Xmax, I felt too ‘hmpf’ to even care about bags. This Xmas, I don’t feel all that ‘hmpf’… But as 2012 is the start of a new direction, I might consider that a perfect reason to fall for this R503 Gessner.

Right. So I blogged yesterday, but not specifically about my Sabbatical. I could quickly upload some piccies and pretend I did so yesterday. I’ll be honest and say: I’m on a train, wifi works nicely, and the view’s too good to be staring at my screen ; -)
Piccies #Day3
After 15 hours of sleep, I dragged myself out of the house, knowing I’d love what I find in one of my fave cafes. Ended up with a surprise visitor there. And with loads of gifts for birthdays – Lake‘s, and my mum and dad’s – and ‘just gifts’. It took me most of the train journey, wrapping them in W.I.T.C.H.-paper. Here’s a picture that captures Fave Cafe, and one that captures Lake‘s party quite nicely. « Lees de rest van dit artikel »
Short update

Two days ago I added a menu, started a new series and
decided to allow comments from now on – so I manually updated all blogs.
I haven’t added a ‘more’ in the old ones – true, some of them could do with one. Life’s about today, tomorrow and memories – adding a ‘more’ here and there, well, don’t really see the point.
Yesterday my blog was kicked offline, luckily they were quite fast in giving it back: thanks for that! Even though I never promote this blog, I enjoy updating it every now and then. Especially now with the Sabattical having started.
Weird detail I’d like to share: went to bed early last night, turned the lights off at 6.42pm… Slept for hours on end. Got up at 9.57am. Quite bizarre. #endofdetail

So much for writing an actual blog today.
It’s just been half five and I’m falling asleep. So I’m off to bed. Perhaps not waking up until tomorrow morning. And therefor… Another piccie-only day.

Sabbatical: #day1

So there: it’s official. My Sabbatical has started.
And so has this series. The only goal I have so far, is to write every day until 2012. Yes, I might extend this series up until the very last day of this Sabbatical. Let’s see how it goes.
Today is more of a ‘just a piccie’-day. #nofilter

This picture was taken December 17, 2010, wandering along the Ceintuurbaan in Amsterdam.
Today it’s December 4th. As the rain beats against the windows, I’m hoping it will be a while before these raindrops morph into snowflakes and hail storms. I’m not too keen on all that white stuff. Old folks stuck at home. Wheels slipping. Animals going hungry – I agree: Let nature run its course! But humans have kind of influenced that course as of lately… And that’s me being subtle.
The cold itself I don’t really mind all that much. Nor the images you get to see when you go for a walk.
